HIV Drug resistance meeting, 19th and 20th of April, Kampala, Uganda

The HIV Drug resistance research dissemination and policy meeting was held in Uganda at the Commonwealth Resort & Conference Center Munyonyo, Kampala on the 19th and 20th of April 2012. The meeting was organized by the Joint Clinical Research Centre in collaboration with the National HIV Drug Resistance Committee with support from the ARTA project, sponsored by NACCAP-WOTRO and UVRI through the CDC-PEPFAR grant.

Efforts to fight HIV/Aids could hit a snag after it emerged that 12 per cent of the people living with the disease and on Anti-Retroviral Therapies (ART) have registered drug resistance.
